Teens injured in Grundy County Crash

A crash near Braceville in Grundy County Saturday night sent three teens to the hospital. In a press release, Grundy Country Sheriff’s Police say it was just after 10:30 Saturday night when they were called to the single car crash in rural Braceville. Reports say the driver of the car, a 16-year-old from Wilmington, failed to negotiate a curve, causing the car to leave the roadway and hit a tree before rolling into a field. Reports go on to say all four teens were out of the car when help arrived. Two were taken to the hospital by ambulance, a third was taken to the hospital by her parents for evaluation and a fourth teen refused treatment at the scene. A 15-year-old passenger was later transferred to Loyola Medical center for treatment. The 16-year-old driver was issued several traffic tickets. Grundy County Sheriff’s Police say speed was a significant factor in the crash.
