Alexis McCullough is having one heck of a birthday Friday. Not only did she turn 17, but she also was able to enjoy the official ground breaking of an Eagle Scout Project she’s been working on with the Village of Bourbonnais for over a year. The establishment of a Gold Star Families Memorial Monument at Marcotte Park in Bourbonnais. Alexis says her father inspired the project.
Bourbonnais Mayor Paul Shore told us this morning he’s proud to have the memorial in the village.
They hope to be able to dedicate the memorial in 2025. For now they are still raising money. So far over 82,000 dollars of the 120 thousand needed has been raised. If you’d like to make a contribution go to the McCullough Gold Star Project Facebook page.
