Madigan Trial Continues

Testimony continues in the racketeering trial of former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan.  Former ComEd General Counsel Thomas O’Neill was on the witness stand yesterday for a second day in a row.  He previously told jurors that he felt pressure from Michael McClain to renew a contract for the law firm of Madigan ally Victor Reyes.  While being cross-examined yesterday, Madigan’s lawyers tried to distance him from McClain by questioning the former House Speaker’s involvement in the deal.  Madigan and McClain are charged with conspiring to participate in an array of bribery and extortion schemes
