Manhattan Joins Northpoint Lawsuit

The Village of Manhattan is joining a lawsuit aimed at stopping a massive NorthPoint LLC trucking and warehousing operation that village officials say when completed could be close to five hundred times as large as Soldier Field.  The suit contends Northpoints proposed proximity to both the Abraham Lincoln Cemetery and the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie raises environmental concerns.  The suit also cites the additional traffic that would strain the area’s infrastructure and a possible decrease in property values near the development.   No trial date has yet been set.
