Rain lessens drought concerns

Nov 15, 2024 | 5:25 AM
Recent rains have gone a long way to lessen drought concerns across the region.  The map just released Thursday by the US Drought Monitor, shows pretty much the entire listening area in the “moderate drought” category. The area was considered in “severe drought” just one week ago. In addition to Kankakee, Ford, Iroquois, Livingston, Grundy and Will Counties – Newton County in Northwest Indiana has also been upgraded to being in just “moderate” drought. Meanwhile, the majority of both Benton and Jasper counties are still considered to be in severe drought. The map included data gathered through Tuesday.
