State Police announce special patrols

The Illinois State Police have announced they’ll conduct Special Traffic Enforcement or STEP patrols tonight in Kankakee, Ford and Iroquois Counties. Troopers say the special patrols allow them to focus on the “fatal four” biggest contributors to traffic crashes and fatalities – impaired driving, seat belt violations, speeding and distracted driving. The special patrols are paid for through the State Department of Transportation
State Police have announced they’ll conduct Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement or ACE Patrols tonight in Kankakee County. Troopers say the special patrols allow them to focus on preventing, detecting and taking enforcement action in response to violations associated with impaired driving and the illegal transportation or consumption of alcohol or drugs. ACE patrols are paid for through the State Department of Transportation.
