Indiana State Police report a traffic crash on I-65 Thursday took the life of a 77-year-old DeMotte Indiana woman. In a press release, State Police say it was just after 11:30 yesterday morning when an SUV traveling northbound on the interstate just south of the Demotte/Roselawn exit, failed to recognize that traffic on the interstate had slowed due to limited visibility due to blowing snow. That SUV rear-ended a minivan and pushed it into the rear of a semi. A wheelchair bound passenger in the van, identified as 77-year-old Mary A Sumara of Demotte was taken to the hospital where she died of her injuries. The driver and one-year-old passenger of the SUV were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the semi was uninjured, there’s no word on the driver of the minivan.
