A solution to the heating and cooling problems at Grant Park Elementary could be in the offing. The school board is seeking approval from the state to sell 8.9 million dollars in bonds to buy and install a new HVAC system for the school. The current boilers date back to the 1950’s and deliver uneven heat to classrooms making some too hot in the winter and others not warm enough. In the warmer months of the school year, classrooms have window air conditioners. The Daily Journal reports the bonds sale would also include funding for a new roof at the learning center.
