Braceville Man Gets a Change to Avoid Prison

A Braceville man has been sentenced to two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to aggravated Assault of a police officer.  38 year old George Meline was pulled over in August of 2023 and became combative with the officer who eventually tazed Meline. In exchange for the plea deal, a charge of DUI aggravated battery to an officer was dropped.  Meline was also enrolled in the Grundy County alternative Treatment Court program. If he passes he will not have to serve his two years.  If he fails he would have to serve half the two years
