Tax Levy Up in Iroquois County

At today’s Iroquois County board meeting, the board approved the tax levy for the upcoming fiscal year.  It includes a 9 percent increase.  County Board Chairman Paul Ducat says on some of those expenses the board’s hands are tied.

The Levy came in at 6.5 million dollars.  Also today the board approved a new contract between the sheriff’s department and the towns of Cissna Park and Buckley for ongoing patrols. Gilman opted not to join.  And show bus service will continue after the board approved an agreement with Will and Ford Counties today
