The City of Kankakee has made its tax levy request for the new fiscal year. During last night’s City Council Meeting, Aldermen passed the new levy for the city. Mayor Chris Curtis says that included five different levies
Curtis adds the city was able to ask for a lower rate because of an increased overall equalized assessed valuation of property in Kankakee
The Mayor said he expects EAV to continue to rise in the future as development continues in the city.
