Gilman Parking Lot Death from Hypothermia

A preliminary autopsy report indicates a man discovered dead in Gilman on Tuesday died of hypothermia.  The body of 62 year old Bruce Martell of Beaverville was found in the parking lot of a restaurant off Rt. 24.  Iroquois county Coroner Bill Cheatum says Martell was staying at a nearby hotel after he was forced from his home by a fire.  Officials do not know why he was out in the cold. There were no signs of foul play.  A final cause of death is awaiting toxicology reports.
