It’s life in prison for the man convicted in the killing of 49 year old Bradley Police Sgt. Marlene Rittmanic and another 80 years to life for the attempted murder of her partner that night Sgt. Tyler Bailey. This is Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe.
Rittmanic’s sister and wife both gave victim impact statements before today. Sullivan chose not to make a statement. His co-defendant Xandria Harris is still awaiting trial. Before the sentence was handed down, Judge Kathy Bradshaw-Elliot denied two motions for a new trial. Rittmanic was shot and killed in December of 2021 at a hotel in Bradley.
