Fire damages Kankakee home

Kankakee City Fire Department was called to a home in the 700 block of Webster Circle west about 7:15 last night, that after a woman called to say she was at work when she was notified her smoke alarm was going off.  When they got there, firefighters say they found smoke coming from the roof and fire contained to the attic of the home. No one was injured, but the owner of the home was displaced by the blaze. Reports say it’s thought the fire was electrical in nature and caused some 20-thousand-dollars worth of damage to the home.
