Jasper County Indiana Sheriff’s Police report a crash Saturday afternoon took the life of a 19-year-old from LaCrosse Indiana. In a press release, deputies say they were called to the rural intersection northeast of DeMotte just before two Saturday afternoon where they found a car on fire in the ditch. A good Samaritan told police he’d been able to get one person out of the car, but he was unable to get to the driver. Deputies say they were unable to get the driver out of the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The passenger was airlifted to a hospital in South Bend, but his condition is unknown at this time. Deputies say the driver of the car missed a T-intersection which caused the crash.
