Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police report a trio of arrests following an alleged home invasion in rural Kankakee Monday afternoon. Deputies were called to a home on North Pearl just before 12:30 yesterday afternoon. In a press release, deputies say when they got there they talked to a man who said someone posing as a delivery driver approached his door. The man said as he spoke with the suspect, two other men forced their way into the house, tied him up with zip ties and proceeded to ransack his home, stealing electronics, cash and multiple firearms before they ran off. Following a short investigation that allegedly turned up multiple stolen itens, deputies arrested 41-year-old Marcus A. Phelan of Kankakee, 38-year-old James E Schoeberl the second of St. Anne and 29-year-old Ryan A. McMenimen of Bourbonnais for home invasion. Phelan, who was reportedly armed at the time of his arrest, was also found to be wanted on an outstanding Morgan County warrant.
