During last night’s Kankakee City Council meeting, Aldermen agreed to a tax increment financing or TIF agreement that Mayor Chris Curtis says will be used for the “downtown market rate housing program” his administration has been trying to get off the ground for the last few years
Curtis said work on the Midland Bank building will start in mid summer, while the market rate housing construction will start late summer or early fall with hopes to be done by the end of the year.
