A Crete man arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot Governor JB Pritzker was given a pre-trial release this morning following a court hearing. Illinois State police say in January 49 year old Michael Dascenzo sent an email to the Governor’s office allegedly saying among other things that Pritzker should leave the state because Dascenzo was on his way to Springfield to have the governor shot in the face. The Patch Newspapers say He’s been charged with making a threat to a public office and harassment by electronic communications. Police say Dascenzo has confirmed that he sent the message but never intended to act on the threat and does not own any guns. Dascenzo’s next court date is March 13th.
