Apparent Suicide by Train this Morning in Kankakee

The Kankakee County Coroners office this afternoon tells us this mornings death involving a Southern Pacific South Bound freight train and a 39 woman appears to have been a suicide.  It happened on tracks in the 2200 block of South Kensington Ave. around 6:30 this morning.  Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner says nearby surveillance video shows the victim just stood in front of the train.  The two-mile-long train stopped for the investigation and ended up blocking crossings in the city for nearly three hours.  We will not be airing the woman’s name
