Woman Missing Six Days in Newton County Found Alive in Crashed Vehicle

A dramatic rescue unfolded today in Newton County, Indiana, where 41-year-old Brieonna Cassell of Wheatfield was found alive after being missing for six days. A passerby was operating equipment when he spotted a vehicle off CR 600S near CR 300E, about a mile southeast of the Newton County Landfill.  Cassell was discovered inside, conscious and speaking despite her injuries. She’d survived nearly a week waiting for help.  Cassell was airlifted to a Chicago hospital.
