Kankakee City Police report an arrest after a woman allegedly tried to light a house on fire. According to reports, it was just after 10 Wednesday night when officers were called to the home in the 700 block of East Locust for someone trying to break into the house. When they got there, officers say they found 40-year-old Frances T. Rogers standing on the porch with a gas can in one hand  and a lit cigarette in the other. After taking Rogers into custody, officers talked to the people inside the house who told them Rogers lived at the house and was mad after an argument earlier in the day. Reports say Rogers had already had already poured gasoline on the floor of the living room and had threatened the others living there. She was arrested by City Police for attempted arson among other charges.
