Manteno cars broken into

A rash of car burglaries happened overnight Wednesday night in Manteno. According to Manteno Police, a handful of cars were burglarized on Brian Drive, Kurt Drive, and other streets throughout Southcreek Subdivision between midnight and 6 Thursday morning. Among items taken were drivers licenses, credit cards, cash, FOID card, and a semi-auto pistol. Camera footage showed a suspect in a gray hoodie driving a red SUV. There also appeared to be a second person involved. Some of the cars that were burglarized were unlocked inside garages. Manteno Police are asking residents in the Southcreek area to view their camera footage to see if anything suspicious was seen that could be useful in the investigation.
