Drug Arrest in Kankakee Saturday

Kankakee City Police made a drug arrest during a routine traffic stop Saturday afternoon. According to a report, officers pulled over a red Jeep traveling on West Jeffery for allegedly driving 10 miles an hour over the speed limit around 3:30 Saturday afternoon. A search of the Jeep allegedly turned up clear baggies with unmarked tablets, an Altoid container with a white powder-like substance, a scale, and other drug paraphernalia. Both the driver, 47 year old James W. Griffin and front passenger, 32 year old Jaleel O. Shepard, were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, among other charges.
