Members of the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office and the Kankakee County Emergency Response Team assisted the Herscher Police Department with a few arrests on Monday.The first arrest happened around 4:30 Monday afternoon in the 900 block of West Station Street in Kankakee when 48 year old Anthony Hernandez of Buckingham was taken into custody. Hernandez was wanted on a Kankakee County warrant for an alleged possession of a firearm with a revoked FOID card. The second arrest was made a short time later while executing a search warrant related to the same investigation in the 200 block of South Elm Street in Buckingham. 45 year old Cassandra S Hernandez of Buckingham allegedly drove her car through police barricades around the home and stopped the car within several feet of officers. Hernandez refused to comply with officers and was charged with disorderly conduct, reckless driving, and resisting a peace officer.
