Semi-Truck Fire on I-65 Near Rensselaer

Traffic on I-65 Southbound near Rensselaer was backed up early this morning due to a semi-truck that caught fire. According to the Rensselaer Volunteer Fire Department, they were called out around 4:30 this morning to mile marker 209 on I-65 to assist the Remington Fire Department with the blaze. As firefighters fought the blaze, the computers with lithium batteries the semi was hauling kept catching on fire in the trailer, which made it difficult to put out. Spraying foam on the fire seemed to work the best. Fire crews were on the scene for about 4 and half hours this morning
