Will County Scam
Will County Sheriff’s Police are warning of another scam going around. In this one, folks living in Will County have been getting an e-mail and phone call claiming they’ve missed jury duty and a warrant has been issued for their arrest. The supposed “warrant” is attached to the email, but Will County deputies say while it appears legitimate, the judge that supposedly issued the warrant practices in Texas, not Illinois. The Will County Sheriff’s Office reminds residents they’ll never contact you by email or phone to demand payment for a jury duty warrant. They say if you get one of these calls or emails, you should hang up on the person and contact the Will County Sheriff’s Office.
