When kids return to school Tuesday following the Christmas break, students at Edison Primary in Kankakee will be staying home. Kankakee School District 111 announced last week that Edison Primary School students will instead have remote learning the rest of this week. That after a structural assessment of the school found problems with the 1958 addition to the building. Because of the findings, students and staff from the school will be relocated with students expected to resume in-person learning on Monday January 12th at their new site. A virtual informational meeting about the closure will be held starting at 5:30 tonight. There’s a QR code on the School District’s Facebook page to register for tonight’s virtual meeting.
