The Bourbonnais Police Department has officially launched their new Autism/Special Needs Awareness Program. Patrol Commander Brent Barrie explains the premise of the program.
Commander Barrie added that while the program is only for Bourbonnais residents, their information will be shared county-wide so that any first responder dispatched to an emergency will have knowledge of the person with special needs. Application for the program can be found on the village of Bourbonnais website or at Bourbonnais police department.
