The City of Kankakee has released some of their crime statistics for 2025. Kankakee Mayor Chris Curtis said overall, things are looking pretty good
Curtis noted that, unfortunately, homicides were up slightly from 2024
Mayor Curtis said an average of 190 firearms have been taken off the streets each of the last three years. He added City Police answered some 80-thousand calls, which averages out to about nine calls per hour.
