Kankakee Police Make Forgery Arrest

Kankakee City Police have made an arrest in connection to a forgery investigation. According to a press release, 47 year old Heather Gaskey was taken into custody Monday in connection to an investigation stemming from allegations that involved the filing of altered or forged legal documents related to property ownership within Kankakee County. Evidence suggests that multiple quit claim deeds were submitted that contained altered language and forged signatures, which changed the ownership structure of a property. Following interviews, document analysis, and coordination with the State’s Attorney’s office, probable cause was established, leading to Gaskey’s arrest. The case is now under review by the Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office.
