It started with a joke about conspiracies against cattle farmers and has resulted in the Indiana Senate passing a bill naming the pork tenderloin the official state sandwich. The bill passed by a 37-to-11 vote and now goes to the state House. Bill sponsor Senator Blake Doriot of Goshen says pork is a major product for Indiana. Senator Rodney Pol, a Chesteron Democrat, noted he supported the bill but added Italian beef is the king in northwest Indiana.
