Monee/Manhattan road crash kills one

Illinois State Police report a crash Thursday morning on Monee/Manhattan Road killed the driver of one of the vehicles. In a press release, Troopers say the head-on crash between the car and a school bus happened just after eight yesterday morning on Monee-Manhattan Road just west of School House Road. State Police say there were 10 students on the bus at the time of the crash. All students and adults from the bus have been taken to the hospital for evaluation. The driver of the car reportedly died at the scene of the crash. State Police say Monee-Manhattan Road between Schoolhouse and Cedar roads had to be closed for a time while they investigated the crash. The road reopened just before one o’clock in the afternoon.
