KTA to Change Name

Jan 26, 2026 | 11:56 AM
Kankakee Trinity Academy is changing its name. In an email sent out to staff and parents Friday by Superintendent Jeff Wood, the new name approved by the board of directors is Hope Christian Academy. Wood went on to say the word Hope reflects both who they are and what they seek to cultivate in every student who walks through their doors. The name change comes as the pre-k through 12th grade school has been going through the process of rebranding itself. The school’s Eagle Mascot will remain the same however. Superintendent Wood said more details about the name change will be shared in the coming weeks. Kankakee Trinity Academy started in 1981 at Immanuel Baptist Church and now holds classes in a building next to Riverside Healthcare on Butterfield Trail.
