The City of Kankakee has received a nearly one million dollar grant from the State of Illinois for the future west riverwalk project. Mayor Chris Curtis announced the news at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
City engineer Neil Piggush said recently that construction at the East Riverwalk at South Schuyler Avenue and East River Street is about twenty percent completed. City officials still hope to have it finished by this Spring or SummeR.
