One Person Killed in Crash Near Peotone

A person died in a car versus tractor trailer crash near Peotone this morning. According to Will County Sherriff’s police, the fatal accident happened just before six this morning near 104th Avenue and Wilmington-Peotone Road. The roadway was shut down between Center Road and Route 45 for several hours to clean up and investigate the crash. The road reopened just before 1:00pm this afternoon. The name of the victim will be released at a later time by the Will County Coroner’s office. No other details of the crash have been released at this point.
