Rensselaer woman arrested for theft

Rensselaer Police report an arrest after a woman allegedly stole lottery tickets from her employer. According to reports, officers were called to the business in the 700 block of South College last Thursday where store management told them the employee had stolen some 16-hundred dollars in lottery tickets. Security footage from the business allegedly showed 56-year-old Kelly Woodcox of Rensselaer taking the tickets and scanning them to figure out if they were winners before taking the winners and throwing the losing tickets away. Management and police approached Woodcox when the reported to work Friday and reports say she allegedly admitted to taking the tickets. She was arrested by Rensselaer Police for felony theft among other charges
