Rensselaer Man Injured in Crash

Jasper County Indiana Sheriff’s Police report a crash Monday afternoon sent a Rensselaer man to the hospital. According to reports, it was just after one yesterday afternoon when deputies were called to a crash between a semi and passenger car on US 231 near Jasper County Road 700 north. Reports say the semi was traveling northbound on 231 when it was hit by the southbound car driven by 70-year-old Ronald Saunders of Rensselaer. Saunders apparently drove off the roadway, overcorrected and crossed into the path of the semi. Saunders was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. The driver of the semi, 61-year-old Dwain Pitts of Lowell, Indiana was unharmed in the crash.
