A Rensselaer, Indiana man is in custody after he struck two Jasper County Sherriff’s police cars and injured one deputy Tuesday night in Wheatfield. According to a press release, forty-five year old Duncan Davis refused to cooperate with deputies for a traffic stop they conducted at a gas station on State Road 10 in Wheatfield just after five Tuesday evening. Davis intentionally rammed two marked squad cars, which sent one deputy to the hospital with injuries. As Davis fled the scene, he hit a civilian’s car at the intersection of State Road 10 and State Road 49. Davis’s car broke down a short distance later, where he exited the car armed with a machete. Davis refused officers repeated commands and was tased. After medical clearance he was taken to the Jasper County Jail. Deputies determined the car Davis was driving was reported stolen out of Porter County.
