A 21-year-old man will face three to fourteen years in prison on weapons charges after he was convicted by a Kankakee County Jury Thursday. According to Kankakee County States Attorney Him Rowe, 21 year old Jaylin James was found guilty by a jury in Kankakee County Court late Thursday afternoon for felon in possession of a firearm. James is a previous convicted felon and was found to be in unlawful possession of a firearm with an extended magazine containing 33 rounds of ammunition. James remains in custody at the county jail until he is sentenced at a later date. States Attorney Rowe said public safety depends on citizens who are willing to speak up and this case is a clear example of that.
