Fatal Crash in Jasper County Sunday

A crash Sunday morning at US 231 and State Road 110 in Jasper County Indiana killed a DeMotte Indiana man. In a Facebook post, Jasper County Deputies say it was just before nine yesterday morning when they were called to the intersection where a pickup truck driven by 46-year-old David Stahl of DeMotte was traveling eastbound on State Road 110 when he entered the intersection at the four-way stop and was hit by the southbound semi driven by 71-year-old Miles Williams of DeMotte. Law enforcement says Williams failed to stop at the intersection. After the crash, Williams’ semi left the roadway and hit a utility pole. Stahl was airlifted to the hospital, Williams was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Authorities say the semi air bag failed to deploy and Williams wasn’t wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
