Kankakee City Police Arrest Woman on Gun Charges

Kankakee City Police report the weekend arrest of a woman after she allegedly threatened another woman with a gun. According to reports, it was just before 11 Friday night when officers were called to the 700 block of North Ninth Avenue for a disorderly conduct call. When they got there, officers say they talked to 34-year-old Amanda Gaytan who told police she was carrying a gun and gave it to officers. Gaytan reportedly told police she had pulled up to her house and got out of her car to put her dogs away so she could pull int her garage. She told officers her neighbor got mad at her because her car was in the street and threatened to stab her. The neighbor said Gaytan had gotten out of her car and threatened to kill her. City Police arrested Gaytan no charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon among other charges.
