Today is Presidents Day. It’s the day we set aside to honor all those who have held the nations highest elected office. History dot com says Presidents day was first established in 1885 to honor President George Washington, but was more uniformly known as Presidents day after 1971 when it was moved from Washington’s actual birthday to the Third Monday in February. Since it is a National holiday all Federal, State and local Municipal offices will be closed today, as are public schools, libraries and banks. There will be no mail delivery today.
