During Wednesday morning’s meeting of the Kankakee County Board’s Executive Committee, Veteran’s Assistance Commission Superintendent Eric Peterson relayed the story of a local veteran who was staying at the VAC’s Liberty Lodge when he lost his battle with cancer.
Peterson noted that because of the local VAC, Boyden was able to pass away in a place where he was cared for with family and friends surrounding him.
