BREAKING: Harris Trial Has Been Delayed

Word has reached the newsroom that the murder trial of Xandria Harris has been delayed. According to reports, jurors were dismissed today and the trial to be reset for March 9th. Court records show Harris’s attorney filed an amended 413 which indicates new information was submitted in the case. Prosecution and defense then went into chambers for discussion with Judge Kathy Bradshaw Elliot. Once they returned, a joint motion for a continuance or postponement of the trial was made and granted. All additional discovery in the case must be filed by the March 9th hearing. Opening arguments for the trial were originally supposed to get underway Thursday morning at 10. Harris is accused in the December 2021 murder of Bradley Police Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic and wounding of her partner officer Tyler Bailey. Harris’ then boyfriend Darius Sullivan was found guilty for his part in the murders last year and sentenced to life behind bars.
