City Police Investigate Battery Call

Kankakee City Police responded to an alleged battery outside a business in the 200 block of East Court Street Tuesday afternoon. According to reports, officers arrived on the scene just after 1:30 Tuesday afternoon to speak with the victim who stated he went out to his car to put his jacket away when 26-year-old Charles L. Sessom allegedly walked up to him, smacked him across his face, and walked away without saying anything. While talking to the victim, responding Officers located Sessom on East Court Street and detained him. Sessom has been banned from the business’s property and charged with battery along with resisting a peace officer.
