Barn Fire in Monee Late Thursday Night

Monee Fire Protection District Firefighters were called to barn fire late last night. In a Facebook post, firefighters say they were called to the 60 foot by 60 foot wood framed barn on Whispering Hills Lane just before midnight last night. When they got there, they found the barn already fully involved with flames. The owners of the barn lost 12 chickens and three goats in the fire, but no human injuries were reported and no other buildings were damaged by the flames. Cause of the fire is under investigation.
