A tentative trial date has once again been set for the murder trial of 30-year-old Xandria Harris. This will be the third time local officials have tried to start a trial for the woman who is charged as part of the December 2021 shooting death of Bradley Police Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic and serious wounding of her then partner Officer Tyler Bailey. Attorney’s for both sides of the case appeared in court today and Judge Kathy Bradshaw-Elliot issued orders extending her gag order on the attorneys to include witnesses, law enforcement and county employees that frequent her courtroom. One of the orders issued by the judge today seals transcripts related to in chambers conversations between both sides of the case and the judge. Defense Attorney Cierra Norris argued the transcripts were central to a motion she plans to file for a change of venue. A tentative start date of August 3rd has been set to start the trial. Judge Bradshaw-Elliot expects the trial to take three weeks.
