The Tri-County Auto Theft Task Force reports the arrest of a Watseka man after he was caught driving an allegedly stolen car. According to reports, it was just before four yesterday afternoon when officers were called to a gas station on Dixie Highway in St. Anne where the victim said he’d left his car running while he went into the store and came out to find the car had been stolen. It was determined the person that allegedly stole the car left another allegedly stolen vehicle behind when they got into the running car and took off. County Deputies reportedly found the car a short time later and the driver, later identified as 37-year-old Coty R. Huckelby of Watseka reportedly took off, leading deputies on a chase through the Pembroke area. Huckelby reportedly crashed the car in Indiana and was taken to the hospital, where he allegedly kicked a nurse twice in the arm. Huckelby was arrested by Deputies for aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle and aggravated fleeing and eluding police. City Police additionally charged him with aggravated battery to a nurse.
