The man accused of the February second “execution style” murder of Momence bar owner Courtney Drysdale won’t be tried in a Kankakee County Courtroom. A hearing was held in County Court this morning where the State’s Attorney’s office asked the case against Julius Burkes Junior be dismissed. That motion was granted by Judge Bill Dickenson. This comes on the heels of notification by Federal Prosecutors that charges had been filed against Burkes in Federal Court. Kankakee County State’s Attorney Jim Rowe
Federal charges filed Wednesday against Burkes include  obstruction of commerce by robbery, murder, and possession of a firearm and ammunition as a felon.
