Watseka Police investigate copper thefts

Watseka Police are investigating a series of copper thefts in the City. In a Facebook post, Watseka Police say there have been several calls in the city where utility trailers had been broken into, the wiring cut and the copper stolen. Additionally, Watseka Police say Ameren notified them that several utility poles in the area of North Jefferson Street and West North Street had the copper ground cut from them. Watseka Police ask anyone with information about the thefts contact their office.
